Are you interested in creating a dietitian blog business? One that brings in multiple streams of income without seeing patients?!
Blogging as a business is a long-term game. It takes strategy, intention, and time. But the end result can be a website that brings in massive traffic and makes money for you.
My Dietitian Blog Business
I’m Katie Dodd and I am a dietitian blogger!
My main blog is The Geriatric Dietitian. It brings in over 100,000 visitors every single month. And it makes over $4,000 in passive income, month after month after month!
My second website, High Calorie Recipes, is reaching over 30,000 visitors per month. And it’s about ready to start making some passive income too!
I’ve learned so much on my journey into entrepreneurship. And not just about how to start a blog and build traffic. I have learned how to build a business, create systems, collapse time, and improve my mindset.
In addition to being a blogger, I am also a business coach. I help other others to build dietitian blog businesses through my Blogging Accelerator Program. We’ll get that later.
How Does a Blog Make Money?!
I think the first question people have when I talk about building a dietitian blog business is- how does it work? How does a blog actually make money?
To break it down simply, a blog (with the right strategy) can bring in massive traffic. People are coming to the blog with questions and problems that require solutions.
Our blog articles answer their questions. But we can also tie in paid products that can help our visitors. This can include client education handouts, e-books, pre-recorded courses, and other products/services.
With my blog, I make money though 5 primary courses:
- Digital goods
- E-books
- Courses
- Affiliate Sales
- Ad Revenue
I share a monthly passive income report on my Instagram page @dietitiansidehustle if you want to get all the details!
How Do I Start a Dietitian Blog?
If you are interested in starting a dietitian blog, there are 3 steps I recommend you take.
3 Steps to Start:
- DISCOVER (What you want to do)
- DEVELOP (Learn how to do it)
- DO-IT (Overcome what keeps you stuck)
Discover What You Want to Do
When it comes to DISCOVER, it is two-fold. First you have to discover what’s possible. I hope this article is opening your eyes to the possibilities of building a blog business.
But then you need to discover your niche. You need to get clarity in what you want your blog to focus on. A general “nutrition” blog isn’t going to cut it.
You need to know who you are going to serve and speak to on your blog.
Develop the Skills to Do It
The DEVELOP stage is often overlooked. And this is what can lead to blog burnout- going down the wrong path and building a website no one is going to see.
You need to learn three main things when starting a dietitian blog.
First, how to build the blog (with the right platform, host, theme). Second, how to build traffic (hint: it’s SEO, Search Engine Optimization). And finally, you will need to think and act like the CEO of your blog business!
Do-It! Start Your Dietitian Blog
Knowing what’s possible and learning how to do it isn’t enough.
You need to start. And you need to uncover what will keep you stuck (at the start or during the process). You will need to be proactive to make sure you have the right mindset to stick with building your blog.
Blogging is a long-term game. It can feel like it’s not working when really you are planting seeds. Too many people will give up before the harvest.
With blogging, you need to focus on your mindset. You need to take imperfect action. And you need to be consistent in doing the work.
Blogging Accelerator Program
Are you ready to start?! I have created a program to help you start a dietitian blog and have success with building a blog business.
The Blogging Accelerator Program is my signature program designed to launch dietitians (and NDTRs, RD2BEs, and other health care pros) into the online space, making multiple streams of income, without seeing patients.
The Blogging Accelerator Program starts with an 8-week self-paced course to get you started. You will get clarity in your niche, build the blog, learn SEO, work on mindset, learn marketing, learn how to make money, and create a plan for moving forward.
While the program starts with a course, it is so much more than a course.
Blogging Accelerator Program is a lifetime access program with community, monthly calls, tools, resources, support, accountability. Everything you need to build a successful blog business.
Who is Blogging Accelerator Program For?
This program is for any dietitian, NDTR, student, or healthcare pro who wants to be a blogger or who has a blog (that’s not making money or bringing in traffic).
This program is not for those who are already making tons of money through a blog (unless they want to join the party- it’s an amazing community!). It is not for those looking to “get rich quick”. And it’s not for those who aren’t willing to invest in themselves.
What is Included?
The Blogging Accelerator Program has lots of moving parts. Here’s a breakdown of what is included!
- 8-week online course
- Tools, Templates, and Resources
- Lifetime access to FB Group
- Beyond the 9 to 5 Coaching Course
