The RD Blog Club Case Study: Meet Kelly Abramson

Today I’d like to introduce you to Kelly Abramson, a private practice dietitian in the Intuitive Eating space. Kelly helps women find true health and wellness (and joy in eating) by jumping off the yo-yo dieting rollercoaster.

How long have you been a member of the blog club?

Several years!

How has being a Blog Club member impacted your writing?

The Blog Club has made me a better writer by helping me more effectively communicate with my target audience.

What do you find to be the most valuable part of being a member?

Accountability is at the top of the list.  There are months when I’m so busy that I think there is no way I can write a blog. The schedule and the gentle nudges from Holly keep me on track. The blog-alongs are also super helpful in getting that rough first draft done in a supported way.

The feedback is also huge.  Having an RD assist with nutrition writing is a game changer.  Just today, Holly caught my simple omission of vitamin K. A regular editor/copywriter would not give that level of assistance.

The community aspect is also really helpful though.

What is your business model? How do you monetize or hope to monetize your blog?

I’m a private practice dietitian. I get leads/discovery call bookings from my website.  I’d love to monetize my blog someday with ad revenue but not sure it works in my niche. For now, the blog helps to drive my client revenue by having more leads, and these leads are the kind of clients who I help best.

Can you quantify the impact of being a member of the club?

When I publish my blogs I get more leads in my niche.  Having blogs edited by Holly has upped my writing and reduced stress because I know that someone in the field has had their eyes on my writing.

What would you tell a fellow dietitian who was considering becoming the next RD Blog Club member?

I would encourage any RDs on the fence to join!

It’s a supportive group and the accountability and feedback are incredible.  I know that without the RD blog club, I would have written ⅓ to ½ of the blogs that I have to date.  Knowing that I have made the investment and that Holly is expecting my blog keeps me on track!

Thanks for sharing your experiences, Kelly!

The RD Blog Club is a tight-knit community of entrepreneurs. I keep the group size small so that I can provide each member with personalized attention and feedback so that they can be successful in their business goals.
